Work Life Balance is a common topic that emerges in coaching work regardless of neither the seniority of the coachee nor that nature of their occupation. This is my perspective based upon how I approach the topic in my coaching work.
At its heart, Work Life Balance encompasses the view that there should be an equitable distribution of a person’s time and attention between ‘work’ and ‘life’.
The fundamental flaw in this proposition is that it casts a negative perception that work is separate to your “life”. Work is bad and life is good. If you are at work you are not living.
Debunking this idea is the starting point. Read all about it in the November edition.
